Visit the South-west coast of Madagascar. The tour visits a number of unique areas of Madagascar, including the towns of Antsirabé, Ranomafana and Tuléar. It also takes you to Ranomafana National Park, a thermal hotel station, and Isalo National Park, where you are able to see some unique rock formations, as well as some of the endemic flora and fauna of Madagascar.

Itinerary

Program:

Day 1: Antananarivo

Welcome at Ivato airport and transfer to your hotel for bed and breakfast at the hotel.

Day 2: Antananarivo / Antsirabé

Pick up at your hotel. Departure to Antsirabé (3 hours). On the way enjoy viewing the Malagasy landscape. Lunch at your charge. Visit of the city: embroidery, craft, and thermal sources.

Dinner, overnight and breakfast at the hotel.

Day 3: Antsirabé / Ranomafana

On the morning, departure to Ranomafana, passing by Ambositra. Visit to Zafimaniry handicrafts, magnificent coloured woodcarvings. Lunch at your charge. Then continue till Ranomafana. Settle at the hotel. Dinner, overnight and breakfast at the hotel.

Possibility to visit lemurs in the evening (for an extra charge).

Day 4: Ranomafana / Sahambavy

Hike in the Ranomafana National Park in the morning. Ranomafana is a Thermal Hotel Station. There are many species of lemurs: diademed sifaka, red-fronted lemur, red-bellied brown lemur. The park also offers endemic fauna and flora. Lunch at your charge. Continue to Sahambavy in the afternoon, situated on one side of a very pretty valley beside Lake Sahambavy. Settle at the hotel. Dinner, overnight and breakfast at the hotel.

Day 5: Sahambavy /Ambalavao / Ranohira

Pick up at your hotel. Departure to Ambalavao (1 1/2 hours), then visit a wine cellar and continue to Ranohira (4 hours) .On your way down to Ranohira, you'll go over the "Porte du Sud", crossing the Plateau of Horombe. Arrive at Ranohira; overnight at the hotel, you'll have a dinner, bed and breakfast all included.

Day 6: Isalo Park

Day devoted to visiting the Isalo National Park. Ruiniform rocks wildly carved by the wind and the rain are formed into strange shapes. Just over an hours walk, you'll arrive at a lush green oasis of "Piscine Naturelle". The Isalo massif is in the middle of the Savannah plateau with its strange forms and animals: elephants' foot, periwinkles, pandanus, and lemurs. The sedimentary rock, sacred to the Bara, surprises visitors. Picnic lunch.

Spectacular photos can be taken at "la Fenêtre de l'Isalo" when the sun goes down.

Dinner, overnight and breakfast at the hotel.

Day 7 : Isalo Park - Tuléar - Ifaty

After breakfast, you'll leave Ranohira and continue until Tuléar. Tuléar is a cosmopolitan town where you can come across many tribes: Bara, Mahafaly and Antandroy and the nomad fishers; Vezo. Tuléar is located at the edge of the biggest lagoon in the world. The Tropic of Capricorn crosses the island 30 km south of the town. It is also close to the biggest fishers' village of the South.

Then continue to Ifaty (45 minutes), Tuléar's main beach resort. Ifaty offers sand, sea and snorkelling. Dinner, overnight and breakfast at the hotel.
