The Raphia Hotel is located on the main street of Tana's Haute ville, in an oddly shaped building perched high above the fumes and noise of downtown. The whole place definitely conveys a youthful hotel feeling - albeit one with very good service. There is a great little restaurant full of potted plants which makes great pizzas and serves Malagasy, Indian and halal food, either in the patio or on the rooftop terrace.
